Why Use Ethos Financial Management?
The advisers at Ethos Financial Management Ltd have both been providing independent financial advice since 1988, when the definition of independent advisers was first given a legal status. We provide advice to both individuals and companies on all aspects of financial planning (although we do not undertake mortgage broking), through a long term approach of fully understanding our clients' needs, wants and aspirations and then prioritising objectives.
Clients can receive advice from Mark Potter, Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society or David Room who has obtained the Diploma of the Personal Finance Society. Mark was Highly Commended runner up in the Chartered Financial Planner of the Year Awards 2009. David is regularily involved in examining work for the Personal Finance Society and has acted as a project consultant to the FSA.
Both have specialist pensions qualifications and they have over 44 years experience directly advising clients on financial planning between them. Mark is also further qualified as a Chartered Secretary and holds the Investment Management Certificate issued by the UK Society of Investment Professionals.
The firm has offered a fee based financial planning service for many years - please see the link to our Services on the home page. We are committed to ongoing service, not just selling new products to new clients and we only offer our services to clients looking for a long term relationship. We have limits on the number of clients we allow to subscribe to the more comprehensive service levels on offer, to ensure that a personal and prompt service is always maintained.
As independent advisers, our clients benefit from our being able to offer advice on the broadest range of products and services. Whether it be for investment advice, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning or simply reducing costs, we have many years of experience in finding the most suitable solution for our clients' needs.
We provide advice and help following a personal / business financial review which can take place at a convenient time and place. Usually a review will start with a very broad discussion of your concerns and aspirations, before moving on to a thorough financial review.
Following your initial review, we will take time to consider your situation, needs and priorities before writing a detailed financial report. We will discuss this face to face in a follow up meeting in which we'll fully explain our recommendations and agree affordable priorities to assist you in acheiving your objectives.
Our charges can be structured in several ways. Our fees are based on the work we do, not the size of your investment or policy - we do not charge or accept percentage commissions set by the "industry". Generally any commissions paid by product or investment companies will be waived to improve the product terms, added back to your investment in full or offset in full against our charges. In all cases our discussion with you will result in our fully disclosing our fees in an open and transparent manner and you knowing the total cost of your advice in full before you commit yourself to anything.
